FAQs

What’s the value of Multidisciplinary Design Optimization?

In today’s increasingly competitive business landscape, MDO is essential for making your product truly stand out and perform at its best. Unlike traditional sequential methods, MDO integrates various disciplines and applies optimization techniques simultaneously, ensuring the true optimum solution. It is ideal for complex and multidisciplinary system development environment.

What’s the value of Model-Based Systems Engineering in design optimization?

While MDO is crucial for product excellence, without integration into the broader business architecture, it remains isolated and prone to failure. This is where MBSE comes in. MBSE seeks to bridge the gap by providing a holistic approach to system development, leveraging models to capture requirements, design, and analysis in a unified framework. By integrating MDO with MBSE, businesses can ensure optimal performance and sustainable success.

Why join OptimiSE Academy?

We are the only online academy that focuses on Multidisciplinary Design Optimization in the context of Model-Based Systems Engineering. Alternatively, if you are interested in applying the methodology more widely in your company, visit OptimiSE, our consultancy firm, where we provide an end-to-end solution that includes design optimization, setting up of the design and MBSE suite, upskilling of employees and more.

What’s the difference between a microcourse and a curriculum?

As we prepare to launch our three curricula over the coming year, we will release each module as a microcourse at a lower price for interested students. This approach allows us to efficiently gather feedback and continually improve our courses.

Once all modules are released, they will be bundled and launched as a complete curriculum. Students who enrolled in the microcourses will be eligible for discounts when purchasing the remaining modules or the full curriculum.

How long do I have to complete the course?

Once you enrol into the course, there will be no time limit for completing your learning. However, your OPCloud license will only be valid for the expected course duration. If you need an extension, feel free to contact us, and we can arrange something for you.

Are there any prerequisites to the course?

Our course is designed to teach you everything you need from scratch so there are no prerequisites.

Any theories or concepts involving advanced mathematics or systems knowledge will be explained in layman’s terms and, more importantly, illustrated through real-world examples where you can easily relate to and understand.

Lessons involving coding or computation will always include source code and step-by-step tutorials on the setup so you will be able to start right away, even without any prior programming knowledge.

Can I earn a certificate?

Yes! All of our microcourses or curricula come with a certificate of completion. To earn it, you must pass all chapter and module quizzes. But don’t worry — there’s no limit to the number of attempts, and you can always reach out to us on Discord for any questions or assistance!

Is there a free trial?

The initial lessons of every microcourse or curriculum are available for free preview, allowing you to sample the course content. Explore the respective course page to learn more.
